Research Areas:
Norway spruce breeding in Sweden:
(1) Quantitative genetic analyses of growth, phenological data for whole breeding populations.
(2) Quantitative genetic analyses of solid-wood quality traits (wood density, MfA, MoE) for a spruce association study.
(3) Quantitative genetic analyses of pulp and paper, bio-energy related traits including chemical traits.
(4) Estimating genetic relationships among growth, phenology, solid-wood, chemical traits for association and breeding program.
(5) Participating in a spruce association genetics study including individual breeding values prediction and assisting in statistical analyses for spruce association genetics.
(6) Develop new analytical methods to increase the accuracy of genetic parameters estimation for association studies using multiple pedigree and multiple traits.
(7) Advance new methodology and analytical approaches to integrate genomic information into selection and breeding programs for out-crossed, long generation tree species.
(8)´Using a new mathematical method to calculate fiber length in increment core.
